Whole-hearted Appeal is Humbling: join the masses in today’s celebration
Celebrate the Serenity-of-Ashes; today is Ash Wednesday when Prayer, Fasting and Alms giving grows all sorts. Al sorts of Salvation-Seeking Christians flock to Catholic Tabernacles for a Cross-of-Ash. Sounds a bit Occult-ish and it is. “Knowledge of the Hidden”[1] according to Wiki. But what isn’t hidden is the Truth, Glory and Grandeur of God.
The Almighty made humans out of Dust and to Particles our bodies will indeed return. Making the most of Life is important. Whole-hearted appeal is Humbling to people of Faith. Abstinence brings a fortitude of Gratefulness to light; believers realize how fortunate they’ve become and rejoice in their ability to Share.
“As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. “Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?”
“It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work. But while I am here in the world, I am the light of the world.” (John 9:1-5 NLT)
Interesting bit of Scripture for today’s celebration. Some folks are physically Born-Blind; Lord show them Mercy. But millions of others are blinded by the Evils-of-Society. Scour any Blood-Line and you’re sure to find a tainted soul. The Power-of-Love enables parishioners to Give-Freely the Light-of-Salvation who’s Death and Resurrection is not in Shadows but in Life-Everlasting.
