One day I hope to live in a Socially Sustainable Society; where Live, Work, Play, and Pray occur in harmony. How do you feel outside your home? Does your community demographic include folks from all walks of life; do people Befriend the Rich and famous as well as the Poor and Downtrodden? Or is there a culture of haves vs have-nots; where families will not play or pray outside their own Community Park or House of Worship.

Surrounding sentiments make or break townships. People welcome New Horizons and Ecological Living areas, they are sprouting up in vast varieties as our Lord’s footprint “Goes Green.” Sustainable Cultures are known for Energy, Water, and Food conservation; Jesus just wants them also to realize how important it is to be Godlike. In other words Jettison Worldliness, Proclaim God’s word, and continue to Play Peacefully with all Creation.

“Then He turned to the host. When you put on a luncheon or a dinner,” he said, “don’t invite your friends, brothers, relatives, and rich neighbors.” For they will repay you by inviting you back. Instead, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. Then at the resurrection of the godly, God will reward you for inviting those who cannot repay you.” (Luke 14:12-14 NLT)

The script today is Heartwarming. Jesus is asking us to be real and appreciate those who live around us. Our less fortunate Friends and Neighbors might not appeal to us out loud or make their needs apparent. So be on the Lookout for the Opportunity to Lift a Spirit; for one day the soul who needs might be our own.
