Full Disclosure and the Sacred Status of Scripture
Full Disclosure and the Sacred Status of Scripture: Heaven forbid parishioners go forth thinking their actions make-up what religion was, is, and ever will be! Oodles of Mercy to WSJ columnist Robert Ruffin for setting matters straight. Seems there’s rumor going round that “Religion isn’t what its ancient texts say; it’s what its adherents do.” Indeed those who wrote ancient text, founded religion, and our Church did so through, “Visionary-Experience, Revealed-Truth and an Oath-of-Prophecy.” [1] Three cheers and a warm embrace for Mr. Ruffin and company who took it upon themselves to deliver today’s Peace-of-Mind.
Religious Visionaries know better than to print False-Hoods. In fact, unless their Vows to God are intact they couldn’t proclaim Truth due to overwhelming guilt. Prophets, who detest Blasphemy and Evil are susceptible to human weakness, but spend hours humbling themselves in Prayer and Devotion. Certain invariable writs go hand in hand with Wisdom. For Christians, God’s written word came alive through Jesus Christ incarnated as man whose Spirit continues to reveal Truth.
“Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” So the Pharisees said to him, “You testify on your own behalf, so your testimony cannot be verified.” Jesus answered and said to them, “Even if I do testify on my own behalf, my testimony can be verified, because I know where I came from and where I am going.
But you do not know where I come from or where I am go going. You judge by appearances, but I do not judge anyone. And even if I should judge, my judgment is valid, because I am not alone, but it is I and the Father who sent me.” (John 8:12-16 NABRE)
Nobody has all the answers outside the Trinity. God allows himself revealed when a soul is ripe for encounter. Some are riddled with Hardship, Lost or Abandoned to the fate of this world before acceptance into Grace; others are Born into Happiness and seldom flee. However Travelers come to Believe in Christ their Re-Birth is made valid through Written Testimony!
