There’s no better way to Clear-the-Mind than to Jog-the-Monte (wastelands)
Is a home with no Network a Blessing in disguise? You’ve often heard: as long as there is Life there is Hope, if there is a Will there’s a Way, or Life without Love is like a Day without Sunshine. Phrases linked by Spirit rather than Complex Networks or Technological breakthrough are somewhat of a Blessing, don’t you think. This week I’ve returned to West Texas to find my disconnected relatives Alive and Well; Thank-You Jesus.
I’ve found no better way to Clear-the-Mind than to Jog-the-Monte (wastelands). Caliche, Tumbleweed and Scorching-Sun give one’s Body a Blast of Spiritual-Vitality. Lord knows why God Loves certain spots more than others because He’s Naturally-Connected, but people don’t. Society must except their territorial make-up, visit or move to align their Life-Span with Natural-Environments. Spiritual-Energies run Wild-and-Free when the Soul is willing to disengage from City-Sprawl and Breathe-at-Peace.
“Thus it was that John the Baptizer appeared in the desert, proclaiming a Baptism of repentance which led to the forgiveness of Sin. All the Judean countryside and people of Jerusalem went out to him in great numbers. They were being Baptized by him in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins.
John was clothed in Camel’s hair, and wore a leather belt around his waist. His food was Grasshoppers and wild Honey. The theme of his preaching was: “One more powerful than I is to come after me, I am not fit to stoop and untie his sandal straps. I have Baptized you with water but He will Baptize you in the Holy Spirit.
During that time, Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was Baptized in the Jordan by John. Immediately on coming out of the water He saw the sky rent in two and the Spirit descending on Him like a Dove, then a voice came from the Heavens: “You are my beloved Son. On you my favor rests.”
At that point the Spirit sent Him out toward the desert. He stayed in the Wasteland forty days, put to the test by Satan. He was with the wild beasts, and Angels waited on Him” (Mark 1:4-12 NABRE)
This summer take a Break, Tune-Out or Disconnect from City-Lights as much as possible. Traveling rural terrains is humbling. Enchanted skies and Pristine environments are God’s Prelude-to-Heaven. To the bewilderment of many, God became man and experienced Life-Detached before entering into His Ministry-of-Love.
